Have you wondered why you seem to work on your website better at certain times in the day?
Scientists have made a study of the circadian rhythm( The body Clock) and have found that mental alertness in most people is best 2-4 hours after we wake up. So we wake up at 7 and our brain is at peak performance between 9 and 11 a.m.
At these peak times, we should focus on the work that requires the most concentration.
What kind of work should be tackled during this time?
The peak performance time should allow your brain to concentrate on the most complex tasks, the deep work like studying, research, critical thinking, solving complex problems, using what you’ve learned to good effect, finding new information to make your article stand out from the rest.
What are the benefits of doing deep work early?
Because your brain has re-energised from a restful nights sleep you will have the ability to focus fully on the deep work tasks that are facing you.
Go to your workspace wherever that may be in your home and start your task for the day, whether that be writing an article, researching a project for review or just laying out a new template for your website, you will find there you have fewer distractions and much better working environment,
By leaving all this to the other end of the day will have an adverse effect on your work. Your brain is tired from the hectic days’ activities and concentration levels are at their lowest.
What should you be doing in those first 2 hours of the day?
This is the time you should be getting ready for your day, showering etc, breakfast and going through your mundane tasks of checking emails, even checking yesterday’s statistics if that is what you need to do.
Take the first couple of hours of your day preparing yourself for a productive day ahead and start to focus on your important mental tasks.
Get into a morning routine where you complete all the less important tasks before you move on to the itinerary of your days’ work.
